The Ciuingam collection, designed in 1967 by De Pas, D’Urbino and Lomazzi, is one of the icons of Italian Pop Design, expressing the ironic, experimental, and unconventional approach of the DDL studio. Its name refers to the idea of a soft material, like chewing gum, evoking a playful and informal imagination typical of their design language. Rounded forms and generous volumes define a distinctly 1960s aesthetic, where the sculptural character and visible stitching emphasize the object’s plastic presence.
The re-edition, curated and produced by Mohdern, brings the project back to its original form and spirit, while updating its materials to ensure greater durability, comfort, and sustainability. A contemporary revival that preserves its radical identity.
